Of all those conversations I cannot recall one where the person said they did not want to have a mailing list and make money with email marketing.
Not a single one.
But oh ... the how.

- How do you grow it?

Yes, I said double. You really can double the size of your list. And much more quickly than you might think.

Hi, this is Charlie Page and I want to share with you three ways to double your list, fast.
Everyone that I know who has a list, wants a bigger list.
And everyone I know who doesn't have a list of their own right now, wants to have a mailing list.
Let's face it, having a list is marketing power.
Unless you have a list, you're at the mercy of people who do have a list.
How do you double the size of your list, fast?
Method number one, solo ads.
The reason solo ads work so well, is that people who read them are already on an email list.
You know they are email centric consumers.
Now listen, I know everybody and their brother has at least several email addresses. That's not what I'm talking about.
What I'm talking about is people who prefer to get information by email.
That's what I call an email centric consumer.
This is not true with other mediums.
For example, people who are active on social media, want to discover new information on social media.
People who love video, want to discover new information on YouTube.
Here's a question ...
Where does your perfect prospect want to discover new information?
If you want to find people who love to get email, you want to go to places where they have email lists right now, that you can send a message out to, to build your list from their list.
If you want to build a list fast, you go where the email centric learners are found.
That's ezine advertising, and solo ads.

Method number two, ask for help.
This is so simple, that we overlook it.
If you have a list now, and want it to grow fast, ask the people on your list to recommend you to their friends.
Many, many will do that.
This really works, and it's so common sense. It just works wonderfully well.
Now, let me give you a hint. Give them a template to follow.
In other words, suggest to them the email they could send to their friends.
You don't want to tell them they have to say this, but just write up a little email, and give it to them and say, "I need your help. Would you recommend me to three of your friends?"
Here's something you might want to say, that way they don't have to face the blank page.
You can reward them if you like, and if you don't want to, that's okay.
Some people say, "Well if I reward them, it's bribing them." Yeah, it's really not. It's just you being a nice person.
You can either setup a reward or not, totally up to you.
This works if you actually do it.
But I have to tell you, 99% of the people that I've suggested this to have said, "I would have never thought about that."
They do it, and it works.
Method three, raise the free line.
Now, what is the free line?
It's the value of what you give away free. That's what that term means.
People think they can't build a list because they don't get enough traffic, or for many other reasons.
But the fact is, most of the people I talk to, are getting some traffic, but yet nobody's joining their list.
Let me ask you this, what are you giving people to get them to join your list? That's my question.
What are you currently offering to give people, in order to get them to join your list? What are you asking them, or telling them?
Are you saying, "Get my newsletter?"
How about, "Get blog updates," or, "Stay informed."
These things just don't work anymore. They did work back in 2002. I've been online for a long time, 16 years now.
Back in 2002 and 2005 even, those things worked, but they don't work anymore.
Today, you need a gift.
You need a great lead magnet.
Something to incentivize them to give you their email address, something they're interested in, of high value.
Now, some people say their lead magnet doesn't work.
They created a report, they have a video, it's just not working, people don't want it.
They get traffic, but they don't get sign ups.
Here's the brutal truth.
It's true for me, it's true for everybody.
It means their lead magnets just not strong enough.
That's just the reality of it.
If you doubt that, think about this.
What if your lead magnet was $100 bill?
How many $100 bills do you think you could give away from your website, in one day?
It'd be a lot.
It's all a matter of perspective.
Give your best value, and grow your list. That's the name of the game.
Listen, every person who joins your list has a value to your business.
Work hard to grow your list, because that's where your value is.
